E-mail List Options
The Boulder Writers Alliance sponsors two e-mail lists to enhance
professional communication:

Primary list (writers-bwa), which is open to BWA members only, and is used to deliver official BWA announcements, job leads, and professional advice

General Discussion list
(discuss-bwa), which is open to the public, and is used for free-wheeling discussion, humor, industry trends, arranging carpools, and other exchanges on writing-related topics
Both BWA e-mail lists are hosted by YahooGroups, and all of
Yahoo's standard extended features — such as message archiving, digests, polls,
chat, and downloadable group files — are available to BWA members. Both lists
are similar in that profanity, flames, inappropriate merchandising, and spamming
are not allowed. You can choose to join and leave either list at any time.
And, you can also choose to receive a daily digest version or no e-mail (in
the latter case, you can access the appropriate YahooGroups Web site to read
archived messages at your leisure).
Note: We highly recommended that you join the Primary e-mail list,
as this is the main way we communicate with our members. Only by subscribing
to this list will you receive job leads and official BWA organizational announcements.
Note that you must actively subscribe to this list after you become a member; no one automatically does this for you.
E-mail List Procedures
- To subscribe to an e-mail list...
You must be a BWA member to subscribe to the Primary list (see information on how to
join). For both lists, we recommend you register with YahooGroups. Registration to obtain a Yahoo
ID is required if you want to access the Yahoo group Web site to read
archived messages and use other Web features; if you just want to receive
e-mail and not access the site, you do not need to register with YahooGroups.
If you have already registered with Yahoo for another group's list — or
if you have a Yahoo ID and password for YahooMail — you can use the
same login, but you still need to "join" the appropriate BWA
group list.
Access the Primary list site at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/writers-bwa,
or the General Discussion list site at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/discuss-bwa,
and click "Join This Group" to display a brief registration form to fill
out.
If you prefer to receive only e-mail, and not have access to
the group Web site, send a blank e-mail to writers-bwa-subscribe @ yahoogroups.com
or discuss-bwa-subscribe
@ yahoogroups.com, as appropriate. (Note that you will be signed up to this
YahooGroup under the e-mail account that you are using for this e-mail subscription;
if you have multiple e-mail accounts, be sure to send the e-mail from the
account you want used for this YahooGroup.)
- To unsubscribe from an e-mail list...
- Primary list, send a blank e-mail from your subscription e-mail account
to writers-bwa-unsubscribe @ yahoogroups.com
- General Discussion list, send a blank e-mail from your subscription e-mail
account to discuss-bwa-unsubscribe @ yahoogroups.com
- To change your
e-mail address or subscription options with YahooGroups...
Visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/writers-bwa
or http://groups.yahoo.com/group/discuss-bwa,
as appropriate. Once you have registered, sign in, click "Edit My Membership,"
and follow the directions. If you are changing your e-mail address referenced
by this YahooGroup, a confirmation code will be sent to your specified e-mail
by YahooGroups. You must enter the confirmation code on the YahooGroups web
site, as directed in the e-mail, before YahooGroups will complete your update.
Notes:
- If you change your e-mail address after you've been subscribed to the
e-mail list, be sure to record this e-mail change with YahooGroups before
using your new address to send out a message to the group. YahooGroups
looks at your e-mail return address to verify whether you are a member
of the list before letting you post a message to the group.
- If you change your e-mail address with YahooGroups, you must also
change it in BWA's membership
database, as the two databases are not connected.

- Mailto links have been removed from this site, and e-mail addresses are shown below with spaces before and after the @ sign, to alleviate address harvesting by spammers.
